Larry has extensive experience streamlining operations and delivering superior returns for businesses in high-growth, turnaround, and start-up environments and has led operations for some of the biggest names in the retail industry. He has served as Chairman, CEO, CIO, and other positions, including –

  • Turning around retail operations for private equity owners in several environments, ranging from import operations of an internationally known women’s apparel brand, to U.S. mall-based stores, to small Internet start-ups.
  • Building lasting processes, procedures and operational standards for major retailers, concentrating on strategy, information technology, import strategy and vendor management. Business Week magazine singled out his contributions in human resources management.

Larry was a partner at McKinsey & Company, specializing in strategy, managing engagements for multinational consumer goods and advertising clients. He has served on the boards of several listed companies, one of which he took public for a private-equity owner. He also served as a Captain in the U.S. Army.

He received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, his M.A. in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin, and B.A. and B.S. degrees in American History and Commerce from Washington & Lee University.

Larry has done business in the U.K., Europe, China, Japan, India, Mexico and Central America, and is fluent in Spanish and French. He has published a book and authored several peer-reviewed articles in professional journals.
